Making a safe & inclusive space for those with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

On April 16th, from 11:00am-12:30pm, the Children’s Grief Center and UNM’s Center for Development and Disability will host a webinar that will be open to the public.

The Autism+ Program at UNM’s Center for Development and Disability educates organizational staff on how to make a safe, inclusive space for those with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We provide training and environment-specific recommendations to accommodate individuals with various supports and needs in your place of business, with your mission in mind.

This training will include:
-Perspectives on Disability
-Characteristics of ASD
-Family and Self-Advocate Expert Perspectives
-Strategies to Support Meaningful Engagement
-Considerations for Supporting Individuals with ASD and Other Disabilities through Grief
