Children who are grieving need to tell their stories over and over to make sense of what happened. Many children who have had a loved one die under complicated or violent circumstances have a hard time expressing the powerlessness they feel over what transpired. This summer Children’s Grief Center is hosting Santa Fe Opera’s “Opera Storytellers”. This is a special week-long (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm) workshop for children entering 3rd grade through 8th grade. Over the week children will write, compose music, sing, act, design costumes & props and, at the end of the week, perform their opera for friends and family members. Opera Storytellers will empower children to tell their stories in a way that is meaningful to them. Space is limited. Snacks and water will be provided. Children will need to bring a sack lunch.
